Congratulations to The Zombies.
#ThisWillBeOurYear has finally turned into TRUTH!
Wow, what a ride it’s been.
The Zombies will be inducted into the Rock ’n’ Roll Hall of Fame 2019.
The Ceremony takes place in Brooklyn at the Barclays Center.   It also happens to be on the same date which 50 years earlier, “Time Of The Season” went to #1 on the Cashbox Singles Chart!   No coincidence here.

What fantastic news!
On behalf of the whole Zombies family, past and present, a resounding and sincere “thank you” to the members of the Rock Hall for adding our name to the list of this years inductees and of course also to our wonderful and loyal fans who have supported us so enthusiastically and tenaciously in the public vote.
When The Zombies first played together all those years ago we would never have dreamt of this kind of recognition which makes today’s news all the more exciting and fulfilling!
Thanks once again to everyone who voted for us, as we go forward as inductees of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, into a brand new year of writing, recording and touring!Colin Blunstone,The Zombies.

In 1956, at the age of 11, my life was irrevocably changed in 3 minutes, when my older cousin by four years, Jim Rodford, played me “Hound Dog” by Elvis Presley. For the next year or so I just sought out the rawest rock’n’roll I could find: I was totally transfixed by American rock& roll; it seemed to represent a world and a culture that was not only  magical, but so far removed from our 50s England that whatever I did, I could never dream of any of us ever being anywhere near it. Over the next few years, I also fell in love with everything else to do with great American music; jazz, with the transcendent 1958 Miles Davis group; r’n’b with the superlative Ray Charles …..
Since The Zombies formed in 1961, there have of course been continuing  incomparable inspirations –  firstly and most notably notably The Beatles, who with their fantastic creative energy and superb and intuitive talent finally forged a way of bringing our UK and US worlds closer than we could have imagined. These are still my heroes, and the thought that somehow all these years later, our band The Zombies – still, by the way, as energised and enthusiastic as ever! –  has been elected to be part of this hallowed company…..  Wow,  it just feels an incomparable and unbelievable honour. Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame – thank you!!
