Where to begin….? Its been so long Bloom Blog!

From the start of my career I have always believed one thing, do NOTHING unless it makes you happy. Figuring out how that made sense in conjunction with a steady and sustainable method of cash flow has been the only lessons ive needed to learn since I figured out the one and only thing I model every second of every day after.

For 2 1/2 years now I have been working on building the name of classically trained singer Adrienne Mack-Davis while combining my passion of Fighting For Futures and multi-media all while honing my mic skills.

Show after show folks who work like us hope for the one person(s) to see them and give them the “break” they have dreamed about. Instead of one person it’s actually a combination of people and we have finally all found each other… which means this is our BIG BREAK!

The Perpetual Tour

Adrienne Mack-Davis x Fighting For Futures x feleciacruz hit the open road for twelve months of shows, service and self-development. Click the link above to see our dates and locations!

Currently I have made my home base in Austin, Texas. I have been given an amazing opportunity to live and work the land here in between tour dates. Im working with some truly amazing folks to further a very large project. I cant say too much now, but i can leave you with a few pics and the words “Artist Commune”

The Future of Hybrid Audio-Visual Music Culture

Recent movements depicting music culture through art exhibits are proving to add yet another layer to the evolution of the musical landscape. Perfected audio and visual sensory combinations are an interesting new twist on classic media. A diverse and accomplished group of handpicked panelists will discuss the future of music culture in it’s evolving hybrid form, and its multi-platform expression from concert venues to art galleries.

Miz Metro most recently curated the Chelsea exhibit “The Art of Rap: Remixed & Mastered,” and her curatorial credits include “Grass Roots Through the WU-mb” with Oliver “Power” Grant (the first ever WuTang branded art show), and Fab 5 Freddy’s first solo exhibit. Miz Metro is the co-creator of CMJ’s International showcase IMPORT/EXPORT: SOUND ART CLASH with Fiona Bloom of The Bloom Effect, taking place on October 19th at DROM 7-11pm.

As a culture curator and a hybrid artist, moderator Miz Metro has developed a sound all her own with the singular use of a 3 track loop pedal and the unlimited range of her human voice. Miz Metro has been featured in The Source magazine, toured across Europe, won Fox 5’s Fearless TV viewers poll for best live performance, and has curated over 25 art exhibits in New York City. She has also worked with each of the panelists in some capacity–blurring the lines between the music and art worlds–and has created this panel to discuss where the future of hybrid genres is going.

PANELISTS:

Oliver “Power” Grant
Co-founder of WuTang Clan
Founder of WuWear

Grant got his start in production by assembling the supergroup Wu-Tang Clan producing the band’s heritage music and videos alongside RZA, fellow co-executive producer & co-founder Mitchell Divine Diggs and the Clan. As a result of the Clan’s success Grant founded and launched WuWear, the first brand of its kind for this generation. WuWear has been dubbed the blueprint for diversifying hip hop artists portfolios via self-branding and marketing–Power then went on to produce the hip hop industry’s first branded video game Shaolin Style with Activision.

Power co-curated “Grassroots: Through the WU-mb” exhibit at Gallery 151 in March of 2011, again the first of it’s kind for the brand and the group. Power is continuing to cement Wu-Tang’s cultural heritage into the fine arts community, creating a bridge between the music industry and art world lifestyles.

Shocklee co-produced the singles “Bring The Noize” and “Fight The Power,” which were included on Rolling Stone’s list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Shocklee has contributed to a number of feature film soundtracks and scores including Juice with Tupac Shakur, as well Spike Lee’s Do The Right Thing and He Got Game starring Denzel Washington. During his lectures Shocklee addresses various relationships between the music industry and social change; how the industry affects divergent demographics; the business of the music – why people are afraid of it and how entrepreneurship is evolving; the underground movements and street politics of current music and how the convergence between cultural norms impact technology and commercialization in the industry. In addition, Shocklee has been a guest lecturer at Wuppertal University (Germany), NYU (New Music Seminar), Iowa University and taught master classes on the Art of Production at Dubspot in NYC.

I’m looking forward to attending this year’s New Music Seminar. June 17-19th at Webster Hall.

There’s so many new opportunities and technologies makes it easier than ever to get more exposure but there’s more noise so how do you filter it?

Are you maximizing your current opportunities?

The New Music Seminar is the meeting place for those who are creating the new music industry- the visionaries, upstarts, and architects building a more profitable music business, providing digital solutions to expose and monetize music in new and innovative ways.

If this sounds intriguing in any way, you just may want to register ASAP before the conference SELLS OUT.

This year they’ve announced 150 speakers and 150 showcases along with exhibitors, networking, cocktail parties and more.

Be ahead of the curve and game and get your thinking caps on for how to have a successful career in this business.

70% of the new hires in the music industry over the next 10 years will be jobs that didn’t exist five years ago. Filling those roles will require a new skill set and knowledge base. The NMS objective is to link you with the knowledge and connections which will help you build the next music industry.

So HURRY UP and REGISTER for the New Music Seminar. I am excited to be able to offer you 20% off the registration which saves you $80.00. Here’s the code: NMSNYPR2359 New Music Seminar.
